Overall, we believe the feedback received regarding our real media product ‘Planet Mary’ was a fair evaluation.
The non-diegetic music ‘Feel the force’ was played throughout our media product and it was identified by the audience as being ‘effective as it expressed the initial mood of the opening and the overall genre effectively’. This positive feedback allows us to understand we were successful in enabling the audience to connect to our chosen genre teenager comedy genre. In the music the lyrics include the phrase ‘feel the force’ and this positive phrase allows the audience to relate this to the geek because it could be considered as empowerment in regards to her being an outcast. Also the non-diegetic music aided the audience to understand the representation of ‘the main character and the idea that she is a geek’. As a group we wanted the music to clearly outline our main character as being a geek because we wanted to highlight that the ‘geek’ character is a typical form and convention of a teenage comedy film.
On the other hand, it was suggested ‘The music goes on for a fairly long amount of time’. We believe this comment is fair because it runs constantly throughout our media product and it accompanies our dialogue. We chose to include non-diegetic music throughout our film opening because during the research process we found it to be form and convention in the teenage comedy genre. From research we viewed the the opening of a real media product ‘Never Been Kissed’ which has the inclusion of non-diegetic music until 1.58 seconds however, in contrast to our media product they fade the music from 1.38 seconds to make the dialogue between two character more prominent. In reflection we believe this is successful in delivery clarity to the audience because it allows the audience to identify with genre through the dialogue taking place. We believe we should have incorporated a fade in our music as seen in the real media product in order to make the dialogue more prominent because it was suggested ‘The song overpowers the dialogue in some areas’.
Furthermore, it was highlighted in the audience feedback ‘More rehearsal time could have been used’ ‘so that the characters interaction with one another was practised and didn’t look rushed ‘. As a group we viewed it as important for the audience to form a connection with the character central to the narrative because we wanted to create a feeling of empathy for her due to her being an outcast. However, from that comment we believe we was unsuccessful in achieving this because audience felt the ‘interaction’ looked ‘rushed’. Taking this into consideration we believe we should have used ‘more rehearsal time’ to make sure the interaction between the characters appeared less rushed and verisimilitude.
Moreover, the titles of our product were considered as being ‘a bit dull in terms of colour and font’. The colour of the titles was white and the font was a basic font which was founded in the settings of iMovie9. Upon reflection I agree with this comment although the colour of the font was white and reflected purity, I believe it was basic and did not follow the forms and conventions of a teenage comedy genre. Pink is a colour commonly used in a teenage comedy genre because it represents femininity however, our choice of colour white left the audience confused to what we wanted to reflect in regards to our chosen genre teen comedy. In addition to this the font also did not represent our chosen genre effectively, from research we found a font which is similar to females handwriting allows the audience to reflect to the genre successfully. As a group we feel we should have used a font that was similar to the penmanship of a female.

Revised Script
We had to amend out original script in order to adjust to the changes and developments we had made in the production of our film opening, such as casting. The casting of the character Olivia is evidence of a change we made, we changed Olivia into a male (Oliver) to be reflective of modern day society which features relationships between males and females. Although, we have altered the original script we believe the revised script still embodies the ideas and values founded in the original script of 'Planet Mary.
